Borderless Networks

* Open up new business models by bringing interactions closer to customers
* Optimize resource use and increase productivity with any device, anywhere, any time
* Reduce costs and improve operational efficiency

Cisco’s next-generation architecture delivers the new workspace experience by connecting anyone, anywhere, using any device, to any resource -- securely, reliably, seamlessly. The borders that once existed around locations, devices, or applications are disappearing -- or at the very least, blurring.

Cisco Borderless Network Architecture helps IT adapt to these rapid changes arising changing work models and technology trends.  The architecture delivers user services that deliver borderless security, performance, and mobility to heighten business agility. These are supported by key network services that provide the cross-platform capabilities necessary for IT to deliver on the business leaders’ expectations for higher user productivity and IT efficiency. With borderless networks, you can enjoy a workspace experience beyond conventional device, application, and performance borders.

Data Center Virtualization

Cisco Data Center 3.0 comprises a comprehensive portfolio of virtualization technologies and services that bring network, compute/storage, and virtualization platforms closer together to provide unparalleled flexibility, visibility, and policy enforcement within virtualized data centers.

Virtualization : Reduce TCO and increase business agility, efficiency, and resilience.

• VN-Link technologies deliver consistent per-virtual-machine visibility and policy control for SAN, LAN, and unified fabric.
• Virtual SAN, virtual device contents, and unified fabric help converge multiple virtual networks to simplify and reduce data center infrastructure and total cost of ownership (TCO).
• Flexible networking options to support all server form factors and vendors provide a consistent set of services across the data center to reduce operational complexity.
• Network-embedded virtualized application networking services allow consolidation of remote IT assets into virtualized data centers.

Unified Fabric : Reduce Costs and Increase Flexibility

A typical data center environment supports two to three parallel networks: one for data, one for storage, and possibly one for server clustering. In addition, servers often have dedicated interfaces for management, backup, or virtual machine live migration. Supporting these interfaces imposes significant costs related to interfaces, cabling, rack space, upstream switches, and power and cooling.

Unified fabric consolidates these different types of traffic onto a single, general-purpose, high-performance, highly available network that greatly simplifies the network infrastructure and reduces costs. To do all this, a unified fabric must be intelligent enough to identify the different types of traffic and handle them appropriately. In addition to reducing total cost of ownership, unified fabric supports broader data center virtualization by providing consistent, ubiquitous network and storage services to all connected devices.

Unified Computing System: Streamline Data Center Operations

Cisco Unified Computing System unifies network, compute, and virtualization resources into a single system that delivers end-to-end optimization for virtualized environments while retaining the ability to support traditional OS and application stacks in physical environments.  It  is next-generation data center platform that accelerates the delivery of new services simply, reliably, and securely through end-to-end provisioning and migration support.

The Cisco Unified Computing System:
• Streamlines data center resources to reduce total cost of ownership
• Scales service delivery to increase business agility
• Radically reduces the number of devices requiring setup, management, power, cooling, and cabling
